WHEREAS the Founder is desirous of creating a proudly South African Trust where the Trustees should always be aware of the intricate demographic composition of the country and committed to contributing towards reconciliation as contemplated in the preamble of the Constitution of South Africa, 1996, through the Trust’s vision of empowerment, development, education, and mentorship of 4 Trustees: Paul Kruger (Chairman), Louis Raubenheimer, Heloise van der Merwe, Jan Fourie, Niel Murray, Johan van Zyl, Jozua Fokker, Wendy Thompson. the beneficiary community.

THE VISION AS FOLLOWS

Subsidiaries of Groenkloof are managing the Care Units and are deeply involved in the lives of employees, firstly through the employment arrangement, but also emotionally when employees share their lives with fellow employees and management. A great need is identified to support the employees and specifically those who are working in emotionally loaded/draining jobs. The aim is to provide support on an emotional and social level, as well as train employees to advance and empower them. Carers are specifically in the mind of the Founder, as they care for others and are often in need of “care” themselves. The Foundation supports programs and development in this area.

The Trust will also support establishing and maintaining or supporting a creche that can accommodate pre-schoolers of employees working in the Groenkloof community, e.g. care workers at the Care Unit, Domestic workers, etc.

Development of individuals working in the elderly care industry, through encouraging, mentoring, equipping, and training promising individuals to become an asset for the industry, but also for the communities they live in and South Africa as a whole.
