THE VISION AS FOLLOWS
Support the research and development within the field of geriatric and palliative care by providing e.g. bursaries to students studying in the field of geriatric care or facilitating access to Care Units and elderly communities where practical sampling etc. can be done for research. This research and development aim is to implement the findings in a way as to benefit older persons and end-of-life patients.
Facilitating workshops of like-minded experts in the field of elderly care. The practical implementation or facilitation of these points is vital as mere research will not suffice.
The Founder experiences a significant gap between Care workers and Nurses within the elderly care environment in terms of stature, competency, education, and ability. The Foundation will support research and development in this area and will support organisations developing a solution for this elderly care industry mid-management crisis, to create a more effective and specifically more affordable care system for the elderly.
Research on the best practice’s development of care for retired persons and the environment most conducive to creating well-functioning and healthy communities.
Facilitate the creation and support of lobby groups to influence medical aids, government, local government, and other role-players to take note of the beneficiary group’s needs and challenges. Specifically, to promote informed and practical laws that will help the beneficiary community and not be a burden that misses the point or addresses the problems that are exceptions and not common to the group. The heart of the Founder is to rather look for a reason to help the beneficiary community, as opposed to finding a reason not to help.
